FIGHTING AGAINST THEIR HOMELAND
These volunteers are a part of the Siberian Battalion, a brand new unit shaped final summer season and is formally a part of Ukraine’s armed forces. Its members are largely from ethnic minorities from Russia’s far east.

“I attempted to combat it and I attempted to persuade myself that this isn’t my battle. I don’t care both about Ukraine or Russia (and) I needed to go away from Russia anyway, so I relocated. Nevertheless it didn’t work out,” added the Siberian Battalion soldier.
He stated his conscience introduced him to Kyiv, after he first moved to Georgia. It’s a widespread route amongst these troopers, who first journey to a 3rd nation earlier than reaching Ukraine.
